The Sklář guesthouse and restaurant is located in the centre of Karolinka, in the heart of the Wallachian hills in the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area, about 23 km from the district town of Vsetín. The town has various sports facilities, such as a grass football pitch, tennis and volleyball courts and a gym. In winter the Karolinka ski resort is open, with a ski bus that picks guests up right by the guesthouse; you can also visit the ski areas on Soláň and in the nearby villages of Velké Karlovice and Nový Hrozenkov. Cross-country skiers will find plenty of maintained, marked trails, while the surrounding forests are a paradise for mushroom pickers and the area offers many marked hiking and cycle paths.Thanks to its affordable rates, this year-round family guesthouse suits a wide range of guests, especially families with children, as self-catering is also possible. The total capacity is 34 fixed beds plus 25 extra beds. All rooms allow the twin beds to be split into singles, and cots are available. Each apartment has two bedrooms, a living room with kitchen, a toilet and a bathroom with a recessed corner bathtub. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a four-ring glass-ceramic hob, extractor hood, kettle, microwave and fridge. Meals are also available in the non-smoking restaurant open all day, with a summer garden. Wi-Fi is included. The guesthouse has its own car park, bike room and ski room; the bus stop is 30 m away and the train station 300 m. The building is connected to the Wallachian National Theatre, for which Penzion Sklář provides the facilities, so the versatile hall can host cultural, sporting and dance events, training sessions and lectures – and guests can meet the actors in person over a friendly get-together.
