In the centre of Klatovy (Šumava), near the main square, stands a sensitively restored historic building – a former burgher residence with a preserved Renaissance layout from the mid-16th century, now serving as a hotel and restaurant. The hotel inherited its name and coat of arms from the famous Klatovy native Šimon Konvos – the squire Ennius of Fenixfeld, who owned the house until 1579. It includes a stylish restaurant with replicas of 16th-century interiors and an Old Bohemian oven, serving Old Czech and international specialities; the outdoor terrace seats 50 guests, and on the third underground level the 'Katovna' (Executioner's Room) is set up for dining for up to 30 guests.
